5 Things We’re Thankful for At Tiny Heirloom

We’re always looking for reasons to celebrate and there’s nothing that gets us in a celebratory mood like gratitude. Looking back on this year, we have a long list of things to be thankful for. Here are 5 of them that are filling our hearts with thankfulness.

1. Faith & Family:

More than anything, we are thankful for our faith and family. All of our dreams and ambitions would mean nothing without them. This year our family doubled in size. Brianna and I had our first son Leo Josiah. Zach and Hannah also had a baby boy, Wilder Grey and, on top of that, Michelle and Tyson have their second on the way!

This week we are especially thankful for the love and support of our families. In the busyness of life, it’s too easy to lose sight of priorities but we are dedicated to consciously put them first every day.

2. Our Team:

Our team has grown a lot this year; in size and skill! We’re over 40 strong now with a lot of talented new faces. We’ve got a lot planned for the year ahead. It’s amazing to see how each team member’s unique personality, background, and talents help us grow as people and as a company. Our Team works tirelessly to create the worlds best tiny homes, and for that we are thankful.

3. Our Supporters and Clients (You!):

No matter how many times we say it, it’s never enough. We couldn’t do this without you! We’re so humbled to be able to do what we do for people like you. There is nothing more exciting than being a part of your journey to freedom-first living. You inspire us to do our very best work and to continue creating and innovating. Without you, we would not be where we are today. We hope you know how thankful we are for you.

4. Value-Centered Business:

Holding our values close to every decision we make has always been very important to us. We want our company to be an active part of building a better world for our children and theirs. We’re very excited to announce that our office and build facility is now running on 100% renewable energy. This is a big step for us in our sustainability mission.

We also know there have been a lot of people displaced by natural disasters this year. From hurricanes to the wildfires, a lot of damage has been done. We want to do our part to help people rebuild their lives and become even more resilient than they were before. That’s why we’re offering discounts on new tiny homes for people who lost their home in a disaster. If you lost your home in a natural disaster, please respond to this email to share your story so we can move forward together. Also, if you know someone who could benefit from the discount, please share this with them.

We are thankful for the opportunities we have to help others and do our part in making the world a better place.

5. Creativity:

What can I say about creativity that hasn’t already been said? It gets us excited about possibilities and keeps us moving forward when things get tough. To us, creativity is about so much more than innovating for innovation’s sake. We want our work to solve real challenges and help real people live better stories.

That being said, we can never forget how fun creativity is! In the spirit of Thanksgiving, here’s a tiny home we built that is designed for entertaining guests. Let us know what you think.

(We even tested it with a turkey dinner!)

Again, we are so thankful for every way you’ve supported and encouraged us this year. We’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment on this post and tell us what you’re thankful for.

  2. Love it. I did not see stairs but only saw the latter getting up to the loft. For someone who like me; stairs would be better. Love your show. The love that you show each other is awesome and it shows in your work. I can’t wait until the day I can afford for you all to build me a Tiny Home. Thank you all for allowing me and others to see your skills. You all are amazing family.

  3. Joel, thanks for your wonderful note on family, faith, and God. I do not have a tiny house, but if my husband should pass on before me, I will have one. Then I can stay 6 mos at a time, at both of my children’s homes. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family & friends. May God bless everyone who sees this msg.

  4. First of I’m thankful for family and good health!

    God Bless You Indeed!!!

  6. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
    You are all amazing.
It’s wonderful to see such a close family. Not many left nowadays.
    Take care and have fun.

  7. I always wanted to hear more from you.
Also was glad your office is close to Portland.
I used to live in Portland, Oregon for ten years since. I still own townhouse there but could not afford to live there. The reasons that our property tax too high also other expenses too!
I am 72 years old and retired. I was forced to one out and rent it out. So probably tiny house would be better for me?

  8. I love your story and the fact that your team believes in renewable energy. I love the Tiny House Movement. My biggest concern is getting cities like mine (under 14,000 w/o college kids) to understand that we need to allow Tiny Houses year round. I live in Wisconsin and TH’s cannot be lived in year round, because they are mostly located in campgrounds. I think my city needs to build a TH Community. I’d love to see one. It needs to be open year round, even in the -30 in the winter. I as a senior citizen would love to have a TH. No ladders, stairs are fine. And the width needs to be able to reach 11′ – 12′ wide to accommodate wheelchairs and other medical equipment.

  9. I enjoy your show so much! Y’all seem to have all kinds of fun with one another and get along great. God and faith appear to be important to y’all. Love that! I believe that, as well. Thank you for what you do and what you continue to do.

  10. Thank you for coming to the 2017 Florida Tiny House Festival. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting and talking with you three creative gentlemen. Hope to see you at more Florida Tiny home festivals.

  11. All of you are definitely God Gifted in your work, design and trying to help others live a life within their means!! I myself am more grateful than I can even write in words!! He led me to take care of people which is the most precious gift ever!! I’ve worked as a respiratory therapist for 26 years. For that and for me finding Jesus Christ as my savior (actually the other way around) is the best thing in my life. I have a home without children except my dog and don’t want all this!! I have wonderful neighbors but I with all my heart want to scale down and since I’m getting older actually born on Christmas would like to move to the big island. If you’d ever be interested to talk and think you’re family would be able to help in our range let us know. Either way Have is Blessed Thanksgiving and take care!! Much Luv, Ken & Lor & Miss Moka

  12. Grateful for everything God has blessed me to do!! Have a Blessed Thanksgiving. Thinking of downsizing and moving to the Big Island! Not sure if it’s feasible yet and certainly not a lot of money to spend. If you can help please get back to us. Have been going since 1989 and do know some friends we’ve made. Take care and God Bless! Lor & Ken & Moka
