Position Summary:
As a Drafter at Tiny Heirloom you will be responsible for project document development. This includes coordinating with all project team members to maintain the level of detail and quality required in accordance to building codes or permitting procedures for complex projects.
You will be responsible for managing, with assistance from the Project Manager or the Lead Interior Designer, all aspects of the project document development and coordinating with all project team members to produce quality work while adhering to project schedules.
The successful candidate will:
- Produce accurate documents aligned with firm standards for project assignments, including framing drawings, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC drawings and provide fixture/cabinet/window and door schedules
- Apply build practice standards to project assignments
- Communicate to Lead Interior Designer and Project Manager progress of assignments according to the established project schedule and workplan
- Ensure project information is incorporated into project documents
- Building codes and RVIA codes are met
- Create permit sets for permit submittal as needed
Required Qualifications:
- 2-5 years previous experience drafting architectural drawings
- A basic understanding of technical knowledge in architectural drafting and design
- Be proficient in the use of computer modeling and rendering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Sketchup. Chief Architecture knowledge is a great plus as all drawings are created in this program
- Needs to know basic building code and a willingness to learn RVIA codes
- Profound and creative problem-solving skills with an attention to key details
Preferred Qualifications:
- An interest in Tiny House & ADU design
- Knowledge in Chief Architecture
- Knowledge of RVIA codes and building codes
- Good attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously
